Meet Your Instructor

Xiaoxiao Huang
Founder and Lead Instructor

Xiaoxiao Huang is an independent trainer specializing in medical interpreting and medical Mandarin. She holds a B.A. in Communications from Trinity Western University and an M.A. in East Asian Languages and Cultures from Columbia University.

From 2012 to 2019, Xiaoxiao served as the Mandarin trainer for various medical interpreting training programs offered by the Immigrant Health and Cancer Disparities service at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, one of the top two cancer centers in the United States. 

Xiaoxiao has also twice contributed as a Subject Matter Expert for the Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters (CCHI), one of the two certifying bodies for healthcare interpreters in the United States.

A published translator, her translation works include the Chinese edition of A Tibetan Revolutionary, The Metropolitan Museum of Art Guide, and My Sister, the Serial Killer
